What is a Home Properties Home Inspection?
A home inspection is a visual record of the existing condition of a
home on that particular day. There is no such thing as a pass or
fail in my inspection. I will not give you a reccomendation to
buy or sell; or suggest any price. I will give you an accurate, objective report of the condition of your house on that particular day
As your inspector, I will record, and comment on everything that
can be seen in your home. You will get an easy to read report,
including digital photographs, and sketches where necessary. I
summarize what I have seen and flag conditions that could present a
safety issue or an impending sizeable expense. It is my goal to tell you everything, but to highlight the things that really matter
I am not a "code" inspector. It is the jurisdiction of government
to enforce code issues. Building codes are constantly changing,
and even where uniform, are interpreted differently in different
jurisdictions. I have no way of knowing what a particular code
was at the time your home was built or modified.
I am concerned with the function and safety of your home. I want
to ensure that each component is doing it's job, is in serviceable
condition, and is not a threat to your personal safety.
No one can see through walls. Sometimes, though, I think I can. Based on
my experience, and subtile clues, I can pick up on things that may not
be too obvious to those who are not really looking. I also am not emotionally attached to the home.
I can give you a completely objective description of the homes
condition. I am paid a fee for my inspection. I have no
financial interest in your home. I am not trying to infleunce you
to buy, sell, or anything else; I just report the condition of the
property.
